Timothy E. Pettitt
Mr. Pettitt focuses his practice on helping people and families who are injured by the carelessness of others. He has represented individuals in automobile, motorcycle, and bicycle crashes, trip/slip and fall accidents, dog bites, and other accidents. He also practices family law assisting people with divorce, child custody, and other disputes.
Mr. Pettitt does not believe in a “take a number” approach with his clients. He enjoys getting to know each client and considers it an honor to help people when they have been harmed and are most vulnerable. He has observed the devastating effects that significant personal injuries can have on individuals, families, and careers.
Mr. Pettitt takes an interest in understanding the medicine—the treatment indicated for each injury. He works to ensure the most efficient and advantageous resolution to each case, which is why he will litigate cases when needed. He has obtained favorable settlements, arbitration awards, and trial verdicts for his clients. He has also briefed cases on appeal with the Utah Supreme Court.
Mr. Pettitt graduated from Brigham Young University and the Western New England University School of Law, where he was an academic scholarship recipient. During law school, he participated in a diverse range of academic programs, including the ABA National Tax Challenge Team. Following law school, he pursued an advanced law degree in Taxation but soon learned that he enjoyed helping people more than corporations.
Mr. Pettitt is admitted to practice in Utah State and Federal Courts. He has been a member of the Utah Association for Justice, American Associate for Justice, the J. Rueben Clark Law Society and other professional organizations.
In his free time, Mr. Pettitt enjoys spending as much time as possible with his beautiful wife, his four sons, playing guitar, boating, all things baseball, and cheering on his beloved Yankees and BYU Cougars.
