Melissa A. Aland
Ms. Aland is one of the founding partners of The Law Firm of Aland Stanger & Pettitt PLLC, where she enjoys practicing law to help people.
Ms. Aland knows the wide reach family law and how it impacts every individual on a very personal level. Ms. Aland receives tremendous satisfaction with the knowledge that she is not only practicing law, but helping clients build lasting relationships with their children and building a plan for their future.
Ms. Aland empathizes with her clients’ problems and becomes fully invested in the outcomes of each case. She is upfront with clients that the litigation process can be emotionally draining and often takes longer than desired. Ms. Aland allows clients to put trust in her, works to see them through the inevitable highs and lows of their specific cases, and strives to get her clients the results they deserve.
While in law school, Ms. Aland interned for the Honorable Judge Nic Madge of the Harrow Crown Court in Harrow, England, where she actively participated in the English criminal court procedures.
Ms. Aland was an intern with the Guardian Ad Litem office at the Salt Lake Matheson Courthouse in 2008 in addition to interning for Judge Dee Benson of the United States District Court, Salt Lake City in 2009.
Ms. Aland has been certified as a Private Guardian Ad Litem since 2022.
Ms. Aland received her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English from Weber State University in 2006.
